Errol Kennedy was one of the core original members of much loved eighties funk and soul band Imagination.
 

Errol Kennedy, born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a dynamic British entertainer and original member of highly successful Funk/Soul band Imagination. Today his passion, energy and enthusiasm, combined with a deep love of music, are as strong as ever. Errol, a natural showman, is excited to perform in front of live audiences and continues to expand his song writing and production skills.

 

He has reformed Imagination under the new name ‘Imagination Featuring Errol Kennedy.’ The new band’s line-up continues to generate Imagination’s original ‘sexy feel good’ vibes, delivering their hit songs alongside fresh, current music. They have been riding a new wave of success, performing at numerous festivals and venues throughout Europe, entertaining 10,000 fans at Gomacchio Summer Festival, Italy in 2015.

 

Errol is a very talented drummer who officially began his music career in 1971. Initially he was a founder member of Jazz-Funk band TFA who later became

TFA Central Line. In September 1975, together with Francois Coffee and Adrian Read, he formed Midnight Express who went on to support singer/saxophonist Ronnie Laws during his 1980 UK tour.

 

Errol left Midnight Express in November 1980. He quickly co-founded successful band Imagination with Ashley Ingram and Leee John, co-writing some of their greatest hits. Imagination toured the world and were awarded four platinum discs, nine gold discs and over a dozen silver discs. They truly were one of the world’s greatest Funk/Soul bands.

 

After the band had gone their separate ways, Errol worked with Hugh Masekela at Bray Film Studios to produce the soundtrack for the movie ‘Soweto.’ During the 1990’s he toured/produced with bands such as Odyssey, Shalamar, Rose Royce, Grace Kennedy, Jamiroqui, Frank Knuckles, Arthur Baker and Colonel Abraham.
